Thoughtful, encouraging, & inquisitive, Dorothy Sirrine CYT 500, is
a strong believer that the mind-body benefits that occur on the mat
are carried off the mat and into our lives. Thus, the yoga mat
becomes a laboratory, or microcosm, to learn about life, to slow
down, and to reset the nervous system. Though Dorothy is inspired
and influenced by many different yoga styles, she is perhaps most
influenced by Viniyoga, which emphasizes personalizing the
practice to our unique situations. A lover of continued learning, she
has vigorously pursued continued education. After completing her
200-hour and 500-hour level teacher training with Sandra Carden of
Union Yoga, Dorothy has gone on to complete additional
coursework in Yoga Anatomy, Yoga for Anxiety, and Mindfulness
training, as well as other areas of interest. Most recently, Dorothy
has applied her scientific educational training to incorporate and
teach around the fascinating nexus of Yoga, Mindfulness, and
